Ya know it's weird, given the relatively small amount of possessions I have amassed, moving is for some reason always a big fuss. The storage company is coming to pick up most of my stuff tomorrow at 5:30 and then I have a 4:15 flight back home on thursday.

Between now and tomorrow I have to get everything into boxes and ready to go. The thing is, they're taking my bed. I had wanted them to come on thursday to get everything so I would have more time to get packed and wouldn't have to worry about sleeping arrangements for wednesday night, but I have more stuff than will fit in a plain van. They have a cargo truck, but it's only rented out through wednesday so that means my stuff is getting picked up on wednesday. The only reason I agreed to do it is because there is a spare bed here and I can sleep on that.

Farewell apartment, you have served me honorably even though the walls are thin, the neighbors are stupid, and there's no way for UPS or Fedex to leave a package here if I'm not home.

 

The hardest part about moving is sleeping in a spare bed? :wtc: :fawk: I remember this one time I had to actually load the boxes and furniture up into a uhaul and move it all myself!

If it makes you feel like I'll suffer any more, my linens will be all packed up and sent off to storage this afternoon. I'll have to sleep on *ghasp* a bare matress with no pillows!

Bah! When my gf and I were moving into our current appartment we had to borrow an old beatup ford pickup truck and make about a dozen trips over 4 days. And you couldn't let it get below 5mph or it would stall, there was no muffler so I got pulled over about 4 times because of the noise and had to explain that we had no money to rent something better so we bought a friend a 6pack and he let us borrow the truck. They let me go with a warning each time... she and I did all the moving.
