Default its back... with a vengance.

well my alcohol problem has reared its ugly head once again... I'm pretty serious about doing some major self-improvement, but I'm somewhat lacking in both initiative and willpower. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas or experience to offer, please let me know.... I'm really getting sick of this BS. Help me kick this for good, guys :happysad:

You worthless shit! Drinking your problems away?!?! You make scum look good... How much more stupid do you have to be? Anyone with more than 5 IQ points can tell you they are smarter than you and that it's a dumb way to deal with things. You'll never ammount to anything more than blue collor peon, go back to drinking and get the hell off this forum!!!

Sorry, that works for somepeople... just trying to help. :goodjob:

drinking every day, for no particular reason. by myself/with others, all the time pretty much. Now is just about the first time I've been entirely sober in almost two weeks.

i'm not heavy drinker, but i've got some friend whom i feel drink too much. they obviously disagree. i see the unnecessary problems that keep popping up in their lives, and i see the connection being their alochol.

i believe if you are serious about quitting your alochol problem you have to meet it head on and join AA, and start on the 12 steps. a lot of people are hesitant to join because they'd rather solve this themselves at home, but you need to bring the problem out in the open and give it a hard go at solving it. a small shot at your ego to solve a problem which is quite large.

i'm looking at stopping alochol myself, but i drink once every couple weeks (sometimes months). my last encounter with alochol was not a favorable one.

yeah... i've tried stopping on my own several times. I usually try to quit once every few months, and last about a week or two.

I know I gotta just take the initiative, but I'm a wuss. I'd feel better about doing a group-help/AA thing if I knew somebody else in it. I guess I'm a little scurred to join up on my own. h:

look at it this way, the first meeting will be the worst, but you'll hear stories of what other people go through with alochol, and that'll help you quit also.

it'll get easier with every meeting.
