Why don't the use the NBA sized ball? Do they ever plan on upgrading?
I was playing bball at school with some friends and every time I shot the ncaa sized ball, it damn near went over the backboardh:.

Basketball size
The NBA ball is the EXACT same size as the balls used in men's college games (NCAA Division I, II, and I and NAIA), as well as being the EXACT same size as the balls used in high school boys basketball games. The women's ball (used for all girls/womens games from the grade school level, through high school, all college levels and even the WNBA, as well as by some grade school boys teams) is a little smaller. Maybe you picked up a women's ball on accident........it probably had 28.5" on it.......that is the smaller ball. But back to your original question..........there is no difference in size between the NBA balls and any other men's ball.
Interesting fact for the day..........
Two men's basketballs can fit inside the rim at the same time. In other words, the radius of the rim is large enough to accomodate two men's size basketballs simultaneously.
If you really did shoot it over the backboard you either need to stop lifting so many weights or stop playing ball! haha wned: Or you could just say that you were playing outside and the wind got it. h:
