I think I have the stomach flu, my stomach's been mad funky all day. Then my Moms calls and tells me that I got a letter from the Cal Grant people telling me that I got rejected and disqualified for any grants. I wuz like WTF? I've got a 3.4 GPA overall, how could they reject and disqualify me for any grants at all? I don't make that much, minimum wage at 20 hours/week and my Dad's the only one working full time because my Mom's company closed down a year or two ago and she hasn't been able to find something she is comfortable to work with. WTF is tha criteria for Cal grants and Pell grants?

i got rejected for grants as well...my mom's a single mother making ~$150 a week and is laid off in teh summer, my dad was dead for a year when i applied, and i was unemployed due to starting school. now tell me how fair THAT is.

the system sucks...deal with it. it's only begun.

 

Dayam they are really tight w/ their funds nowadays. Sorry to hear about your story. That's pretty bad.

i got a rejection letter too from them. and i got a 3.5 last quarter. :dunno:

i just threw it in the trash since i have NEVER received any money from them. its all from the pell grant and school grants. :dunno:

might wanna talk to your fin aid counselor.
