Got a closeout deal on Dunlop 207's at a local Yamaha dealership. Not sure if I want to change the tires right away or wait til the treads get a little lower

I wouldn't get D207ZR's or GP's (those are ZR's), you can get a set of D208ZR's for about $220...

It's a MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better tire. I mean, leaps and bounds better.

If you do mainly freeway riding and don't really care about corner grip, then go with the cheap D207's, otherwise go wtih the D208ZR's.

Dont *ever* get a D208GP though, it's a track tire so people always think "Oh it must be super sticky", then problem is; they do get super sticky - but they arent designed for multiple heat cycles, so what happends is after the first 3-5 times you take it out and heat it up real good / let it cool down, it never gets nearly as sticky as it once did. That's why you should always go wtih a street tire (like a D207ZR in your case, or a D208ZR in mine), because it gets NEARLY as sticky as the track tire; and is designed to handle TONS of heat cycles.

Did that confuse you yet?

Tires are marked up higher in the NW then CA. The cheapest I can find 208's was $280 :wtc: Probably will get another set of 207 for track/instruction day coming up Budget racer
