Default my day at NOPI

what an eventful day. my first car show, and first time at the track. i dont actually race my car, but my friends were tetaching me a few tricks. Well, they were showing me how to warm up the tires and all of a sudden...the clutch slips. I didnt think too much of it since the clutch is soooo old. (i have a new clutch on the way)so i went to leave tonight, and something didnt feel right when i was accelerating in first. it kinda bogged, so i stopped and put it in neutral and tried putting it back in first....no go. i thought dangit, my clutch is sraight GONE. I have my friend check it out since they are all mechanics. they said it was probably just the clutch sticking since it got so hot and i never get on it like that. so i had my friend drive it just case. we stopped at the gas station after an aweful ride. my car would go in gear only sometimes but then wouldn't actually go anywhere. then other times it just wouldn't even go in gear. so they checked it again at the gas station, said that there might be an air pocket in the lines. so they bled the line and it worked.........for about 10 feet. then it did it again, and again, and again. finally i said screw it, i'm calling a tow truck. then the guy that was trying to fix my car said....well let me see if i put it in first whens its off and start it..i can drive it home. then he explained to me that you dont have to use the clutch at a certain point between 2-3000rpms. so he drove me and my poor baby to the shop...i gotta learn how to do that sh!t. so, to make a long story short, my car is stuck at the shop, i'm stranded at home, and my clutch wont be here for a couple more days. but i'm still making it to NOPI. i just have to get one of those NOPI CHIC banners

Yet another person who would have been better of with the realization that import car shows and drag racing are rather dumb. :sigh:

actually no, i had a great time at nopi. i went went with the shop i work for and one of our cars got first place in the show. my clutch breaking had nothing to do with the show. and by the way my friend did not know that my clutch had 115k miles on it. if he had known that...he wouldn't have been doing what he did. he is a really good friend and will be fixing it for me as soon as the new clutch comes in. h:

I do know what I'm talking about: I think import car shows and "the scene" in general are stupid. I am aware of my topic, and therefore I know what I'm talking about. Just because you happen to disagree with my opinion doesn't make me any less aware of it.

alright...heres an update. today they took apart my car and found that my pressure plate was broken in three parts .....i know thats got to be hard to do. my clutch was gone completely. that guy that broke it has disapeared...arshole. luckily the shop i go to gave me a good deal on installation, but i still had to borrow money from mom my car drive great now. they tightened up my suspension, and my new competition clutch and pressure plate are awesome. its just a stage 1 but its perfect for me. my car drives like new again, nice and stiff oh and by the way...i got my nopi chic banner on sunday

im not sure, nopi was my first car show or track event period. i've never been anywhere else. but my friend angela who won at nopi this year 1st place nopi chic(showing not racing), just invited me to the next hot import nights in northern va or dc, something like that. hot import nights is her favorite.
