how much ram do i have?

Default how much ram do i have?

when i boot it shows 32mb
when i show sys properties its 261,292 kb

i dont think i have 256 here since it goes real slow when i have more than 5 windows open, including a couple ie, winamp, excel, and outlook

Its probably 256 is my guess because my comp does the same thing. It shows 128 at startup but I know for a fact that I have 512 in there I put in myself

256 isn't that much anymore. it's very possible that there's more things running in the background that will slow it down.

yeah. check out xptweak.com, I think it is.

It gives you a tutorial on how to shut off the totally unnecessary background proceses. My gf's compy is down to like 15 processes at any given time, mine is at 30.

I'm running a lot of useless junk that I can't turn off

Even after I tweaked it, though... 256 still isn't a lot.

maybe the 32mb is for your graphics card.

I've got 32mb on my graphics card but 512mb for my comp.
