after taking accutane/claravis for a few weeks now, my lips are pretty damn dry. my good ol' cherry flavored chap stick isnt effective enough either. do any of you guys know any type of chap stick that is for extremely dry lips, but doesnt have that nasty carmex taste??

 

When I took Accutane, my skin was flaky and starting to crack (think dried riverbed) from being so dry. I couldn't open my mouth too wide because my lips were so dry, they'd rip open and start bleeding (down where they "hinge"). Dried blood in my nose was no fun, either.
I always use Carmex, it's my favorite. I'll have to ask my sister what this other stuff she uses is called.

Hmm... what coincidence - when I went on acutane, I started my chapstick addiction. I stopped taking it 2-3 years ago - still addicted to chapstick-moisture

I love Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. It doesn't smell or taste funky (just lightly pepperminty) and it's really moisturizing. It actually heals chapped/cracked/burnt lips. I've been using it for a couple of years now, and I never, ever have chapped or burnt lips anymore, even in extreme winter or summer conditions.

 

I use Carmexx only in extreme emergencies....its not a good product for regular use at all.

I use Natural Ice exclusively for about 9 ears now. I started using it when I was snowboarding 200+ days a year and my lips would get horribly burnt and chapped......this stuff rocks.
