what is considered too short for a pant length while sitting down and standing up?

well for me, if you can see the socks even while sitting, its still too short, but most *older* people don't wear pants as loose fitting as I do. lets say that if you can see 50% or more of the sock (the part thats on the leg, not the foot) its too much.
