Default DSM guys

Hey, I know there are some DSM guys out there. I've got a buddy that needs some help on his 97 Eclipse GST. He's trying to replace the front left wheel bearing and can't get the axel shaft out of the hub. He's tried using a puller and heating it. Does anyone have any tricks to get it out? I told him to soak it up with penitrating oil and work it from time to time. He is trying to save the axel shaft so he doesn't have to replace that as well.

Any help???
