y=cos(u) where u=sqrt(x)

dy/du=-sin(u) du/dx
du/dx=d[(x)^(1/2)]/dx=(1/2)*x*(-1/2)

(dy/du)(du/dx)=dy/dx=-sin(sqrt(x))*(1/2)*x*(-1/2)

hmm something of the sort, what did i do wrong here... :thinking:

if you use u=x^.5 for a substitution, , du = 1/(2x^.5) ... so when you plug that in for dx, you get an equation with u and x, then, i dunno....
