Does it have to be a car by Honda? Or can it be a car not built by Honda but powered by a Honda engine?

They made a lot of changes in '96 that made the hatches more liveable, but that design has never been 100% in my book.
The previous hatches had a more resilient suspension for road work.
If I were going to get a cheap hatch for a project, I'd probably get an EG and put an ITR suspension and a B16 in it...and call it a day.
