Default stupid grumpy old guys

I was just out at the empty parking lot in my neighborhood playing with my shock settings trying to get some cold-track data. I was doing the usual tests; circle, decreasing radius corner, slolom... using the lines in the parking lot as "cones" and some old guy in a seabring pulled up and started staring me down. Then he stopped his car by the exit of the lot, and waited around, giving me the evil eye all the time. I would get out of the car to adjust the shocks and whatnot, look at him and smile and wave, but he continued to look pissed. So I finished up and slowly left the parking lot, driving completely responsibly, and waved to him as I passed. He pulled out right behind me (supposedly writing down my plates) and followed me out.

I don't see why old people have such an attitude about driving like this... I was on a privately owned lot, completely empty, the cops don't give a hoot (they stopped to ask what I was doing once, I explained, they said "OK, cool." ) I don't see why this guy had such a stick in his ass... he wasted 20 minutes of his saturday just to give me the evil eye and take my plates. What a turd.

I shoulda gone up to his freaking car, knocked on his window and asked "Can I help you?"

What pisses me off the most is that he probably thinks I was being a totally irresponsible hooligan, when really, I was taking every measure possible to be safe/responsible/sensible. Its not like I was slaloming baby carriages or something. And the instant I was on a public road, I was driving just like I always do, perfectly.

Hey!! I resemble that remark!!

Perhaps he was the landlord and owned the parking lot you were trespassing on? Perhaps he was the local agent of the landowner?

While slow and dangerous behind the wheel, senior citizens can still serve a purpose.
