Emissions testing

For those on here that have cars with non carb legal parts, how do you guys pass emissions in cali? do you guys put them back to stock for testing or what? ive just wondered

most people i know just go back to stock since all they have is I/H/E and not too much done

otherwise you need the $200 hookup

i have heard that some of the testers can be bought. what happens though if you get pulled over and the cop knows your front mount and all the goodies arent legal?
