Default how accurate are cop planes when determing your speed

..... ykno, like they pace u or radar u then the cop on the ground gives u a ticket..

um .. yah, the pilot radios to the cop waiting ahead on the ground .. and the cop on the ground writes u up a ticket on behalf of the pilot.

i would asume they are pretty accurate.

Yep they have them here in CA. They're the CHP's equipment, and they monitor extremely long stretches of freeway with those things.


And, for the record, I think they can't get a precise speed, but if the officer testifies that he saw you far outpacing the flow of traffic, your case will flop.

yeah its still witnessed by an officer, be it pilot or ground its still valid

the plane is accurate. next you drive in an area that is enforeced by planes take a look at the side of the road. there should be white crosses painted in the breakdown lane about every mile or so. what a perosn in the plane does is time your car for how long it takes from going to each marking. from that with a little math they can determine your speed.
