If you like added security and have an ancient computer lying about it's pretty easy to get. Also doable with a router.


Does your work use VPNs?

I'm surprised you know that much about satellites. You're right, VPN is an historic problem.

Mine works, but with a noticeable degradation in service.

It has no problem with speedily connecting to and replicating via our Lotus Notes server.

It will even replicate with the Hansard server at Westminster Palace, collecting all the edits and new information at a right speedy pace.

Guessing hardware, because most routers aren't very software VPN friendly.

I refuse to pay Comcast anymore money while I'm up here in the 415. When I get to SD, I probably won't even bother with basic cable- since the programming blows ass. That will give me the disposable income to get some decent bandwith.

It's not too bad, COM has it's T1 connections internal to the campus..:drool:

im on the $30 a month for 12 months thing with yahoo sbc. once that is over, if i cant get the $30 a month deal again, im going back to dialup.

I have T3 here at school. We have a full (45MB) connection through Genuity as well as an additional 10MB through Towerstream.

old slow cable at home haha j/k

i was supposed to be able to get cable like 2 years ago but our shitty little cable company blows donkey testicles so at this point we are still waiting.. its _SUPPOSED_ to be the beginning of april. im not holding my breath. im currently connected at 42.6
