don't they disqualify LASIK recipients because your retina can detach under high g-forces? I was told this when i tried to enter a HELO flight program in the marine corp. they weren't going to let me fly the Cobra so i bagged it.

This is true.
Non-flight servicemembers can apply to get LASIK done.
this is why I'm getting PRK
LASIK zips a flap, folds the flap, does some zapping , folds the flap back over, and bam you're ready to go.
PRK just zaps right off the top - more healing time required, and a larger chance for thinks like Halo around lights, poor night vision, etc.
