it's possible that you have a lot of shit running in the background that you're not aware of. if you're running winXP pro, this is most definitely true. if you've installed a bunch of software (tools, media players, etc.), this is probably true too. can you give a little more detail on your setup?

yeah, tom's is nice because they list their setup piece by piece. can't say that for any of the other benchmark sites i've seen.

seems some people are just sensative about intel owning AMD in about everything except pure number crunching.

Yeah in fact I do have alot of shit running in the background, 51 processes to say the least. I'm also running on XP Home edition and this is a Dell computer.
