I futzed with a friends 20gig iPod once. I thought it as the coolest thing evar. He had the fm tuner attachment and was playing it through the boombox. I also like the little inMotion Portable iPod Speakers. That would be cool to put in my kitchen. I just don't have an extra $500 laying around quite yet ($300 iPod + $150 inMotion). Unfortunately the mini iPod can't be used with the inMotion so I would have to get the regular size iPod.
I always thought Apple kinda went with VW as well. Both have zany little commercials targeted toward college kids, have a higher standard of design, but cost a bit more than I am willing to spend.

The mini's are great, you don't know how small they are till you actually use one in real life. 4-5 gig is plenty if you only put music you'll actually listen to and switch it out periodically.
:werd: 4-5 Gigs should give you around a couple thousand songs, which unless youre a music pheen should be plenty of storage
