what keeps me going?

im so fortunate to have positive people around me. ive learned to avoid and ignore those that bring me down or those that are the cause of negativity. and from there, i am in a network of people that gives me a reason to smile. and from all that positivity i am able to want. and then create goals and shoot straight at them.

and to elitebob, you gotta get props and respect for raising a kid on your own and actually having that attitude towards your relationship with her. it actually feels good to me knowing that there are still "caring" parent(s) out there. but anyway...its so fuking easy and tempting to say, "fuk it" and just let it all go. but what would you be achieving then? what end result will you have created?

one thing i dont understand, how do you feel alone when you have a daughter? she is something you created, and no bond should be stronger than that of a parent and child. you are NOT alone, man.

in my beliefs, we only get one life. make the best out of what is handed to you. and if thats not enough, go out and get more.

the bible has answers to your questions. if you find yourself feeling alone, you can always go to church. god will always listen. good luck man, and keep fighting. its hard, but you're doing the right thing.

 

do you two realize that not everyone *wants* to be part of a church? that not everyone even believes in god? good grief. the prosletyzing around here has become too, too much.

what a selfish thing to say, or even think about. you have a 3 year old daughter. what would happen to her once you blew your brains out? be sent to live with her partying mother? oh yeah, good choice there. or how about your non-available parents?

come on dude. get real. you need to get some counseling. without it, you'll never find the root of your depression, and it will only get worse. don't you want to get better, at least for your daughter's sake? please go to counseling.

 

hey im not even religious. i just happen to know that the church is very good at helping people out. its free therapy, and it gives people a direction in life and a reason to live. when you have nowhere else to go, a church will never close its doors to you. you dont have to have a religious background at all either. you can just walk right in and god will accept you. i think its a great thing.

 

sorry, no. doesn't work like that for everyone. going to a church would probably make me even more insane and depressed if i was having those sorts of problems.

besides, if someone is dealing with serious issues, specific issues (not just, "oh i'm so sad") tell me how going to church is going to solve any of them? church isn't going to sit there with you and talk about your problems and try to come up with ways to fix them.

 

look im not telling him to go to church. im putting it out there as an option. and no, church isnt going to just fix his problems. nothing can do that. he has to solve his own problems, but to do that he needs moral support. sometimes just praying can be very therapeutic. you go to mass on sunday and maybe read the bible a little and you learn ways to cope with your problems. this is why religion is popular in less wealthy areas where people have real problems. church helps. maybe its not for everyone, but it is THERE for anyone.

 

Do you have full custody of your child? If not get full custody because dude you have a little kid and thats a lot more than some of us have.

Edit: What keep me going from day to day? I like proving people wrong, most of the civilized world has this idea that I won't make it and being dead just makes them right.
