Personally I don't see any appeal in trucks, but hey that's just me.
when/if I'm rich, I'll invest in a truck. I think offroading is fun as hell, I've beaten my stepdad's jeep around Moab a few times.
Its just too impractical to live with on a regular basis, I'd need to be able to afford my racecar and dailydriver before I took the plunge into owning a truck.
