Are roll bar mount cameras legal?
I'm thinking of gettng a mount to hold my vid camera on my roll bar for driving with friends and just to have....
i was wondering if these are considered legal? my guess would be yes, because then u have proof if in case of a accident or speeding ticket
i don't know, it be funny as hel to get pulled over and have it rolling the whole time. but im not trying to get pulled over..

I've seen camea mounts on eBay that make it so the camera mounts onto the two posts holding the seat headrest in place. They also have the kinds that suctions to a smooth body panel of a car for outside shots.
Be prepared to spend some serious money for those, however. Real cinemagraphic (sp)equipment is not cheap.

are you asking for track/autox or for the street?
if for the track/autox it is legal provided you have a sturdy mount with a strap.
for the street.. :squint:

To add to Ricks comment...
For street it is legal I have ha one in my car for well over a year and never even been asked about it by a police officer (the one thing I haven't been pulled over for).
As long as it isn't a hazard to the operation of the vehicle then I doubt you would ever get anything aside form a few odd looks
