THEOLDMAN not doing so well
RIP Al you were just a good man, the world got a little darker today.
From his son Rory on FB
"Hello everybody - this is Rory again to let you know that my dad Albert (Al) Durocher passed away today, Friday, Oct 17. For those of you who didn't know, dad was a 10 year liver transplant survivor, but skin cancer is what did him in. Al was born on 4-11-1950. He was only 64. He leaves his wife (my mom) of 35 years, Colleen Durocher, me, and my daughter Kaida Durocher. He also leaves a sister, Annette Brummett of Vail, AZ and numerous other relatives and friends. A wake for Al is being planned for April 2015. We will keep his facebook page open and contact you closer to the time in case you would like to attend. As you know from Al's postings, he had a great love of photography (and he was pretty good at it), trains (he was great at weathering buildings and building layouts). He has a facebook page called Port Hapless and Quincy Railroad with his work on it. Al loved music, especially the blues and the Grateful Dead. He was a big fan and supporter of WEMU. Al also loved Northside Grill in Ann Arbor and Espresso Royale coffee. Al had a big fishing competition with his granddaughter Kaida. They were always competing as to who could catch the most and biggest fish. Kaida usually won! She takes after her "Opa" and is quite the fisherman. The last fish Al caught was a 12 inch small mouth bass in the Au Sable River in Oscoda. He will always be loved and greatly missed".
