Default Analog video to digital

I have a VCR tape I want to copy into my computer at a good resolution.

I have permission of one of the owners and manufacturers of the tape to do this but I don't know how to go about it so that I get decent resolution and sound out of it...anyone know how to get it done most efficiently?

video converter. u can go through the camcorder as the converter, but it doesnt seem to work for ALL digital camcorders :dunno: the other method is to use an actual converter unit like Formac Studio ($199) but its not that "great", or Canopus ADVC100 ($250-299) which is decent, and Miglia Tech's Director's Cut Take 2 ($339) which is the best for money...if youre willing to drop that much on a converter.

Yeah I have looked at those but I really don't have enough use for the convertors to invest in one. I wish I could find the Miglia for like $100 and I would snake one up but $300+ is way too steep for something I would use once in a while.

I have some questions that you guys may be able to help me out with. I'm trying to convert some home videos on VHS to DVD. I'm using a Leadtek WinFast TV2000XP Expert card with Windows Movie Maker 2 to capture the video from VHS and edit it. Then I'm trying to burn it using Sonic MyDVD. The problem I'm having is that the video and audio are not in sync. Any ideas what maybe causing this? I'm also getting a fair amount of pixelation.

The settings in WMM2 are:
Variable bit rate
640x480 display size
30 frames per second

The pixelation doesn't bother me as much as the audio sync problem does.

Any ideas?
