What affiliation are you? Why?
When I vote... I tend to go republican.
But recently there's been a lack of candidates that inspire me to go out and vote. I like the fact that republicans aren't big on taxes, but I don't think abortion is a big deal. I dislike the fact that democrats are for affirmative action, but I like that they support a lot more government funded programs.
I just want a candidate that's pretty neutral. not too far right, and not too far left. Just pretty much in the middle.

I'm registered as a Democrat. But my politics don't necessarily follow party lines. Here's a binary brain dump on where I stand.
I favor capital punishment, and I oppose affirmative action.
I feel strongly that same-sex marriages should be allowed.
I firmly hold the opinion that abortion MUST remain legal.
Similarly, stem-cell research should be allowed to continue.
I oppose corporate welfare.
I support the social programs that help the poor get back on track..(Limited-term welfare programs, for instance).
I oppose the corporate special interest groups that have seized control of the nation.
I'm concerned about the future welfare of our planet.
I feel that our government has failed to meet its obligations to provide for its citizens.
Most importantly, in 2000, I did not vote for this administration. My suspicion of GWB's lofty campaign promises was entirely justified. Instead of addressing the crucial problems on the domestic front [health care, education, social security reform, corporate accountablity, etc.], the Bush Administration has ignored them altogether.
I will no longer tolerate such neglect.

I register Independent but I vote for whoever appeals to me the most and has the best platform.
