Willy Wonka is a great movie, but since I saw the widescreen/letterbox version on TCM only a week ago, I couldn't watch the network broadcast of it with commercials. Couldn't stand to watch the BS award presentation last night either, so I watched Goldmember on Encore for the umpteen hundredth time.


Gene Wilder made a great madman in this movie, but the upcoming remake with Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka I don't think will be able to capture the insanity that was the original Willy Wonka played by Gene Wilder.

that movie scared the bejesus outta me when i was a kid. could not eat candy or anything sweet for weeks. willy wonka has something very sinister/evil is his gaze.
