compromises *sigh* (car related)
well, its looking like my little money-making scheme for this summer isn't going to work out... so my crVTEC buildup is gonna have to wait another year probably (this makes 3 now). But my vx motor is on its way out, I definitely need something new in there.
So here's what I was thinking: I could get a b16a swap this summer. I could build the head (cams, springs, IM, TB, etc.) and see what I could squeeze out of a stock shortblock. In the meantime, while i had something at least decent under the hood, i could build up the b20 shortblock in my spare time. Then when the time came to put it all together, I'd have an already built head to slap on the shortblock, and an Si tranny to bolt up. I could always get a n2o kit too if money allows.
*sigh* i sometimes wonder if my car will ever be done :happysad:

i'm an autocrosser, and I don't think the B16a will cut it (in the long run) in SM. Aside from which, personally, I prefer driving a torquey car to a powerful one.
I would prefer to have a B18b because of its power characteristics, but then I wouldn't be able to re-use any of the parts (transmission is too tall, head is worthless) when I go crvtec. So basically, thats why I chose B16a.
Honestly, I bought this car three years ago with immediate plans for swapping, and the money just never materialized. It gets frustrating when you have to put off you plans for so long. Anyway, the goal now is b16a by august, and built crvtec by august '05. I'm taking a year off of school, so I think thats feasible. :happysad:
