Default movie help?

i was hoping someone can help me remember the name of this movie...

it was released within the last two years or so...it's a detective/suspense flick about a murder investigation. in the beginning of the film, a former detective is relaxing in his home in florida, after retiring from his investigative work (to be with his wife and children).

his old boss asks him to come back to do one more case, because of his uncanny ability to recreate crimes in his head and solve puzzles. much to the chagrin of his wife, the ex-detective goes back to work. he checks out the murder scene, an abandoned house. later he somehow discovers that the killer is targeting more families.

i remember one of the puzzles he solved was the killer used broken shards of a mirror, to cut his victims' eyelids off, so they would have to watch the other members of the family being killed.

eventually the killer targets the detective and his family, in their own house.

i THINK the main actor was ed norton, but i couldnt find anything in his filmography.

any help would be appreciated. thanks

 "Bone Collector" maybe?

But I don’t remember the mirror part in that.

It was Red Dragon. Ralph Fiennes came after the family while they tried to hide in FL.
