Now it's:

vs.

I found out last nite my motor is dying. Looks like I'm going to have make a decision whether to keep the car or not real soon. Right now it's heavily in favor of getting a new car. I'm pretty bummed I may have to get rid of the GS-R.

I'm not really a fan of the tan interior in the S2k but I guess it's not so bad if you're set on having a white car. I'd go with plain black or maybe black/red. Power as you probably know is a good bit more than the 240 hp rating.

I don't like the Z, it's not really that heavy but it drives like it's heavier than it is. Part of this has to do with the really slow steering gear ratio.

Btw I would also look at the RX-8, the power isn't very impressive but its chassis is awesome. Plus it only gets up to the S2k's price completely fully loaded with a bunch of stuff you can't get in either the S2k or Z. Stuff like heated seats, 6-disc in dash changer, moonroof (well, that's only not in the Z). The interior is also really, really nice especially with the leather.

You could swing a nicely-equipped BMW 325Ci in that price range but if you go overboard with the options the price can top $40k.

I haven't driven the EVO or STi but they ain't exactly gonna be stealthy from ricers or Johnny Law.

hey chris...with whatever car you choose (black evo), you will miss your GS-R dearly...but hey, life goes on and you already had a taste of what it feels like to be in a spiffy new car.

i'd be stuck in your situation between the evo and Z. the evo is probably the best car to suit your driving style and needs, since you're already used to driving a street beast. but it's plagued with the three diamond emblem (if you care) and it has four doors...something you will find to be a bitch when you go out. but hey, it's roughly $5000 cheaper than the Z.

on the other hand, the Z is sick...it doesn't fit everyone's taste (i.e. S2000 and RX8 jockeys), but it's a 100% sports car. but it is slower than the Evo and you may find that frustrating. between the two, i think it's easier on the eyes, while still maintaining a "bad ass" factor. the thing that held me back from buying an Evo was that i'm in my late 20's...and i needed something i could grow into. i'd feel pretty retarded pulling up to my office in a "gaudy" sedan or when i need to go places with my VP. some people dont care about that shit, but i do..

either way, happy motoring! :driving:

I've already driven an S2000, my conclusion in a nutshell...........gokart on wheels, I like it alot.

I've driven the closest thing I could find to a Z, a G35 Coupe on stock 18"s + Brembos, braking is phenomenal and it's nice to have some torque on the low end.

RX-8? It's okay, not a fan of the kickout rear doors....and a good reason why I'm not considering that car is that it has no damn pistons.

BMW 3-series? Don't think I'd settle for anything less than the 330ci, and that's way out of my price range....I need some kick in the pants. Sure the 3-series is proven over and over again, there's just too many of them around here.

Then comes the EVO. Haven't driven it yet but Spec R (name on this board) has ridden in an EVO and my car. In terms of power delivery, he said we're very similar but I have a much meaner top end. I need to test drive one though. However the major drawbacks about that car is.......it's too too high profile even without the wing and the fact you can run a 12.5 with just a full exhaust spells t-r-o-u-b-l-e if I ever get the itch again.

Yeah I was pretty bent out of shape last nite after seeing my friend drive my car and every time he would get on it hard, it'd leave a trail of bluish-white smoke.[/quote]

Yeah I don't know if I'd feel right driving a DSM since I've had alot of tension between me and a few DSM guys around here. Price is a plus, but damn there's too many options Mitsubishi put in that most companies have as std. equipment.

That's exactly what I think about. Sure if I was 17-18, I'd want the EVO in a heartbeat. But these days I want something on the smoother side, more for me rather than measuring up to someone else.
