Default Might buy an Audi A4

1997 Audi A4 1.8T 5-spd w/ quattro awd.

Price $9,350
Mileage 80,460
Exterior Color Silver
Interior color graphite/black cloth

I'm gonna trade my teg in, and they said the price has some bend room. I hope it's as good as it sounds I'd like to be in it by weeks end

I lub teh A4. 2.6 quattro is great. But if you're modding it the 1.8tqm is the only way to go.

I did a lot of research on them when I was looking hard into my next car. They're pretty solid.

I myself would probably get the 2.6qm because I want to have an NA setup for the track.

I love the sound of a turbo thoh: I want I want I want. And w/ my 729 credit score I should get 4.5-6.5% apr financing. I just hope they give me $4g's for the teg as trade, if not I'll sell it for $5g's to get rid of it quick.

Yeah, the turbo sound is nice. Until I can afford the A4, I'm going to have to sell my civic and buy a 240sx to drive around in. gotta paint the civic first, though already put new brakes in.

4.5-6.5% on a used car... maybe 6.5 but i doubt 4.5

I think you can do better than that price, a friend of mine sold his 97 for around $7000, around same amount of miles... but I think anything under $9k would be fair... make sure you check for any electrical problems as those are prone to.

For starters, no such thing as a 2.6, it is a 2.8.

As for 1.8t vs 2.8, if you are keeping stock (which I doubt you will) 2.8 is pretty good, but 1.8T is dominant for modding. I have a 1998.5 which was one of the last years win Non-Drive-By-Wire, which makes for easy modding. Also, this year had the most power accessories and fun toys (i.e.) Motion sensors, one touch up down windows, etc.

Also, that price is OK, just make sure you keep the KM's down, ensure the TB has been changed and look for these common problems:

-Lower control arm bushing skweaking or clunking
-MAF sensor blown
-BPV faulty
-Blown Turbo

There are others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. I would go to http://forums.audiworld.com/a4 and register there. That is by far the most knowledgable group of Audi enthusiasts around.
