Default Verizon Phones SUCK

now with that said.. i know they don't have those stupid chips in them like my t-mobile phone... but my friend has one that keeps breaking and they keep "warrentying" it with referbed ones that last 2 days and break.

but they wont' sell her a phone at the cheap price (less than 200) unless she goes for another 2 years. is there a way that i can get a new phone for her and transfer the data over myself?

rule.

yea, verizon requires you to wait 22 months before you can get a new phone at a discounted price. thats how most companies work with the exception of sprint. its been a few months since i got out of cell phone sales, but i know cingular, ATT and T-Mobile won't let you buy a phone at a discount for x number of months into the contract. tony has the right idea. ebay.

When my Startac broke I had to pay Verizon $50 to get another one. But then again that one had 2 years of me dropping it on the pavement every other day and it held up for that long. I got another one and I still have the battery from the first one in that so at least that still works. Our contract was up December so once I get some money I'll go back and get the camera phone.

Gotta get the hookups!!! I got a free V200 for a backup...and then paid $80 for an LG VX6000 without a new plan back in July.

I got a backup for my T-Mobile Nokia 3390 off eBay for 6.50, shipping included and they threw a spare champagne/gold case for free too. I'm adding it to my collection of 30+ cases. Buy it Now feature rocks!

Old school 3390s own me.

I hate verizon's phone selection. :madfawk: @verizon

I want a better phone. But after my contract expires I probably won't have a phone anymore... unless I get a damn good deal.

i've very happy with verizon. my trustly old motorola 120c is still doing great, and on the original battery. it's been maybe 3 years now that i've had it. i just had to replace the antenna once. i have no idea what verizon offers now, but i really don't care, until this phone stops working.

Yeah, well....

The problem is that if you absolutely must be able to make a phone call anywhere, Verizon's really the only choice.

I certainly agree w/you that they're not on the cutting edge as far as new phones go; however, it's not always their fault.

The vaunted MOTO V810, for example, was sent back for a redesign after the beta field testers complained that the antenna was in the way when they tried to take a picture. :crook:

And on the other hand, you can get a Verizon LG VX4400B for $30 after rebate, and this is one of the phones that is rated as one of the three best phones to have. (Rated by Consumer Reports.)

It is, after all, primarily the function of a wireless provider to provide you a way to make phone calls, not necessarily to provide phones that essentially make beta testers out of their entire customer base.

SprintPCS bullies its suppliers into providing cutting edge technology as far as the phone sets themselves, but that's hardly much help to you when you can't get one of their PCS towers to make a call, or your'e stuck in one of those stupid analogue roaming situations where your battery lasts all of ten minutes.

Yeah, I was looking into the vx4400 for my next phone. As for service I think verizon is the best, but when you have a bulky old POS phone. It doesn't matter how good the service is.

I might ebay a vx4400... or just wait a while until I'm "eligible" for a new phone... god I hate that.
