Default where to buy engine hoist/crane?

looking for one around 150 or less, thanks for the help.

Sams Club actually has some cheaper Michelin ones....

If you are only going to use it once, go to a rental place and rent one instead. If not, buy a good one to begin with.

do they carry it at all the samsclub store? because i can't seem to locate it online. I don't have a samsclub membership either.

But yeah I'm probably gonna use it a few time.

Some features you want to look for are:

Extendable boom
Extendable legs
Long handle on hydrolic release(helps to lower things slower)

Other than that, just make sure the welds look nice and the finish is nice and any lift will do. I have an Excel(sp?) lift that I got from Sam's. I'm not sure if they sell them anymore. Anyone heard of them before?

I rented one for $30/day when I did my swap. I used it for probably less than 2 hours if even that. Its a waste of money unless you plan to do a ton of engine swaps.

which sam's? i used to work at the one in franklin [27th & Rawson] and i've never seen one there

Harbor Freight owns. We had a harbor freight hoist and engine stand, and they were awesome.
