i use adaware and my k++ 2.4.3 works fine. i have to try spybot tho....

 

Don't, just let it remove it all!

It's got a repair function... if you find that something is horribly wrong once it's removed, you can restore it.

 

In my experience, Spybot is a little aggressive for the uninitiated. Recently we ran tests of all the antispyware programmes we could find, and some of them, including Spybot, frequently attempted to remove files that were necessary for the operation of Windows and Norton and McAfee programmes.

After hashing it all out, I noticed that the most experienced users elected to keep and use AdAware in conjunction with America Online's antispyware programme. Between the two of them, things seem to get handled correctly.

Believe it or not, the America Online programme that will be included in all future versions of the client software caught key loggers that no other programme was catching!

 

AOL is spyware.

Howver, I am an America Online community leader and friendly user/developer.

I would be delighted to address whatever particular concern you have that makes you think that America Online is spyware.

We keep and store a user's email, address book, calendar and favourites at the server in Virginia so that experienced users can replicate all of their information at whatever computer they're at anywhere in the world.

America Online's security is probably the best in the world, considering the size of the user base. Moreover, the email server is the largest, most secure and most scaleable in the world...so scaleable that it's actually used by small governments. :P
