my gf hit someone
My gf got rear-ended a Camry with her is300, but it was not reported. The damage on the Camry was quoted at $600. Currently she is 19 and not listed under her parent's auto policy, but the car is insured under their names. Her friend told her that her insurance will triple. How much will her insurance really go up? I've never been in an accident so I wouldn't be able to tell her.
Would it be: (1) better to put her name on the car with her parents or just hers and stay with the insurance company? (2) Since her name is not on the policy, is her accident non-existant on her record and be able to go to another company? (3) Should she just go to another company all together? (She did get some quotes from Geico and Traveler's Insurance).
Thanks.

how much damage to the lex? why not just pay the quoted $600 and call it a day. insurance doesnt "have" to know.
best to ask their agent "hypothetical" questions.

If the accident wasn't reported to the po-po or any insurance company, it might as well not have happened. The "tripled" statement is blatantly retarded and deserves a :hammer: Pay the money out of pocket, lesson learned. Be glad the Camry owner doesn't have any physical injuries.

I'm just wondering if other insurance companies (with her accident) will accept her because she doesn't want to stay with her parents' company.

Anyway, , the best thing I've found with insurance is a place that gets multiple (12-15) quotes from different companies.
