Yeah yeah, another pic from someone's window. I was inspired by the other threads.
I took the pic with my Canon S200 Digital Elph which is an older 2.0 megapixel whose primary feature is to be really small. The only "manual" controls it has are an option to turn the flash off, a few white balance settings aside from auto, and exposure compensation up to three EV in either direction.
To take the pic I put a thick book on the window sill and propped the camera on the edge of it so it leaned down to the glass and rested there while pointing towards the street. I left the white balance on auto and turned off the flash. All I did in photoshop was touch up the color balance with a tiny little bit more blue in the midtones, and apply a 50% opacity sharpening filter.
From looking at the exposure data the camera decided on a 1 second shutter speed with an f/2.8 aperture. I didn't know the lens even opened up that wide. I would have gone with a higher f-stop and longer exposure to get some more sharpness but with no manual controls you take what you can get.
