A man is trapped in a room (four walls and a door) with nothing but a traditional bed, a calendar, a piano. He must eat something, drink something, and get out of the room through the locked door. How does he do it?

Never heard of this one...
if it's a stupid riddle he could use the piano keys to escape and eat the dates off the calender...but I don't know what he drinks...but it has to do with the bed...the only thing I can think of is beds have springs...he could drink from the springs...but that makes this the worst riddle ever...I hope I am wrong
