Burning Clutch
Hey guys, I had never owned a brand new car before getting my STi about a month ago. Anyway, a couple of times since I have gotten it I have been parked on the side of the road and a plow has come by and pushed a pile of snow right next to me. Since I don't want to bash the car in front or behind me (but I still need to give it a good amount of gas to get over the pile of snow) I ease out on the clutch very slowly while trying the keep my revs high enough to get over this mound of snow (around 3,000-3,500rpms). I get over the snow bank fine and I don't hit any other cars but my car reeks of burning clutch like I have never smelled before. I have been in situations with my old miata a couple of times and had to give it a lot more gas to get out but never smelled anything like I am smelling with this car. Is it cause the car is new or is it something else?
what do you guys think. Will it go away as the car gets broken in? Or should I just put a stronger clutch in? Or should I wait until this one goes to shit and then put a stronger clutch in?
it'll be fine. i get that smell once in a while in my car when i have driven the car hard.
