I have a similar question. When I click a link and it opens a new window, how can I make it be maximized by default? I read in the older windows u could like, hold down shift when u closed a window and that would set the default but that doesn't seem to work. It's sooooooo annoying having to maximize every window that opens. Anyone know how to do this?

I don't think there is any way to make IE do that automatically, but here's a program I use.

http://www.jiisoft.com/iemaximizer/index.htm

It lives in your system tray and anytime a new window opens, it automatically full sizes it. Take a little getting used to (a slight delay sometimes) but is very easy to live with. I hardly notice it happens anymore, but other computers feel strange.
