Default PC question PC vs Imac

Okay i dont want to turn this into a big debate...and just would like your simple opinions on these two. THis is actually for my boss who's looking to buying a new pc, and is unsure of what to get. She likes the apple imac with the LCD widescreen and a 1.25 ghz processor for $1794. She is planning to use it as a TV aswell so she'd get the tv tuner card and tahts why she's getting the 17 in LCD. She's not looking for gamnign or anything else just something that works good and compatible with word, excell and other stuff that we use at work. She asked me about the processor speed since the latest pc's are at 2.6-3.0 ghz. But i dont know, i'm guessing its some different type of rating, so could someone expliain that to me, whats the rating system on the 1.25 apple and 3.0 pc? since pc's were at 1.25 ghz like almost 2 years ago i think...any other comments are appreciated. or suggestions, she's just looking for the simplest thing with least amount of work.

well I guess the main question is what is she used to?

Pc or Mac?

I wouldn't recommend switching no matter what shes using. If she's used to a PC, a mac is going to be confusing. Also the other way around too.

Don't get a mac just cause it's pretty. That's a STUPID reason to buy a computer.

if it doesn't matter what she gets, you can find much faster computers for much less.

i agree she should stick w/ what she's used to

you can build a much faster PC with a tv card and a 17" LCD for alot less than 1700.
