I always prefered that talent shine more then sex appeal... but then again two of my favorite artists are David Bowie and Alanis Morrisette...
Not exactly on the top ten for sexiest.. but both have a certain appeal to them... and I think it's their minds, personalities and raw talent.

I always thought music was to HELP you get laid, not be masturbation fodder. 
Seriously though, I think it's great if people are again buying music for the music, rather than for its image. I'd like to think it has less to do with 9/11 and more to do with people realizing that cookie-cutter pop music is bullshit. I mean, with what Britney et al are doing now, it almost seems like desperation on their part. Like..."Oh noes!!!!!!~1 They figured out my music is worthless. Um...hmmm...OOH OOH OOH!!! I know! I'll take my clothes off! Then they'll like me again!"

The correlation they are drawing is between sex and album sales when it doesn't matter what they look like if they can't sing and if your buying the album your not seeing the person singing it at all (music has no pictures to it dumbass

Yeah the music sells but then again most of the singers they are taking about are pop artists and they get pushed hard on radio and tv until they do sell...its just how it works.
