Default cold weather clothes....

last time i went snowboarding, the temps were probably around the 20s. i had a thermal shirt, hoodie, and windbreaker on. i was *cold.

im planning on going back soon, but i dont want to be so bulky. mainly because of my hoodie. what kind of clothing should i look for? is there a material out there that is super thin and light, but super warm?

what do you wear when you go snowboarding? or for people in the east....when you go outside. h:

When I board I rock my longjohn shirt, a regular tshirt, and than my 686 X3 two nine jacket. You can read what my jacket is made of, if you go to products, than on the top row, second image.

Even in the single digits I usually where a long john and a shirt. I usually where my back pack, which has a sweater, and other shit. Only time I get cold with that on is when I am on the chair lift, once I strap in and get going a 100ft or so I am warm again.

Ya mine was pretty pricey. Mine was like 3 bills almost. Some stuff you pay for the name really, even though it is as thin as a windbreaker it does real well. There are some jackets by all the boarding company's that are real nice for a decent price. Some of the 686 stuff comes with a real nice liner for the same price as my jacket. If you want those type of jackets go to their dealer locater, as well as the other companies or find skate shops and look around.

The jacket you got looks like it will work, it comes with a liner, I wish I would have gotten a jacket with a liner or the ability to add one sometimes, I would just wear your underarmor and a tshirt with the liner on that jacket.

Ya that's it, I have a set I bought from Eddie Bauer awhile back, but stuff like this

Not sure what you got for pants, but I usually where long john pants, with some shorts on and wool socks. A good set of snowboard pants or ski pants that are waterproof and can handle the cold will help you keep warm as well. Good snowboard pants cost about a 100 bucks.

REI has alot of good gear

*edit* if you can get some long john pants it might help in you not feeling bulky as well, plus it's a weight reduction
