there is not much to do where i live.... so working on my car is a hobby other than doing drugs... and its something that i can put my money into and can take lots of pride in the finished project.. and i love the feeling of just chillen on a hot day all greasy and dirty, drinking sodas with my friends working on my car.. i also love the attention i get from everyone

Default I do it too...

My sister and I work on our 89 Civic Hatch just for the thrill of kicking the crap outta some boys when they don't expect a coupla girls to out do them. My boy tries to work on his car and my shit comes out right the first time while hes already done 2, 3 times. Right now we are mostly working on body work and are frequently out at the pull-it-yourself junk yard, and they talk to us like we don't belong in the yard at all. We get such satisfaction of pulling something like my fender, hood and some other stuff out and the guys at the booth yelling "Oh my God, they got stuff!!!!"

Plus you appreciate it more when you've had to work hard to do something yourself.

thread revival much?

I do it because I love working on cars, and I like the thought of knowing I installed so and so part, and now my car looks/feels/sounds/runs better than before. I've been in to cars since i was 15. Don't see it ever changing.
