I bought 2 at the same time, the other 2 were additions (replacements for the 2 that died)...

They seemed to just bite each other's neck-- spoke to some pet doc's, they said it was normal- 'mating' but there was blood, so I didn't think it was kosher. Kept them separate in like 2 tanks- it was a game of chance- trying to see if "turtle 1 doesn't bite turtle 4, so put them together, but turtle 4 bites turtle 1, etc..."

It became a hassle, so we just gave them to the pet store... it was either that or set them free :happysad:

The only thing bad about them is when they get big, they eat and poop alot. So changing the water and filter was a bitch too... I had a fluval also, wasn't fun changing filters when they were clogged full of poo.

No..but came really close to it... I had to take out the biggest one to clean the tank, it was about 10"... I was about 3" away of being chomped... I remember they said that if you get bit by them when they are younger, you might get salmonella...

I miss my turtles...

Hmm, you shouldn't really let them puncture you, or bite you, At ALL :eek3:

Haha, I know what you mean with the bubbles. Other strange things they did was lay on top of each other in stacks... or they did this strange thing, shaking their claws next to their faces, while facing each other in the water...
