damn thats wierd! i have never seen a scooter in the US. he must really not want to spend money on transportation.
The area around campus here is infested with scooters like the Vespa, although it's mostly Hondas, Yamahas and these Kymco ones that are made in Korea or something. Pretty good for getting around here since most places don't have parking.
What amuses me about Vespas are all the "socially" and "environmentally" conscious hipsters that own Vespas... they're one of the worst polluting vehicles on the street!
