Default VW intake help...

Ok. So my friend and I got this cheap intake off ebay for 54.99 bucks. I mean cheap. This shit doesent even come close to fitting on the car. But aside from that, we were looking at the stock intake. And it as all these like computer wires going into it and wires going into the intake manifold? Now what I want to know is what are these? Would I have a problem leaving them un-done? Please give us help. We are stumped.

Jon

Replace the stock breather box back onto the car and ditch the intake it will do next to nothing for the car.

Best thing going for VWs is to put a K&N drop in filter into the stock breather box then drilling holes in the bottom of the box.

Highest efficiencyand lowest cost equals the highest gains your gonna get out of it.

What I was plannin on doing is using the stock intake pipe and just put a K&N air filter off that. But I wasent for sure about the wires and everything. I also noticed it had piping going back into the exhast mainfold cooling it off. What about taking off the resonator too? That safe on the VW's?

Nope you leave it all in tact the mass air flow sensor is on there and it can mess with the idle control.

I dunno 99.9% of all VW guys don't mess with getting an intake assembly but rather modifiy the existing equipment since its the most reliable setup possible.

Since I am not the fanatic who knows I am not going to suggest undoing any of the wiring you are talking about though.
