Sure it is. It's rwd with awd optional, and has almost the same hp numbers, at least when stock. Just no GT-R option yet.

If you think about what sort of cars the typical police cruiser is made from over here then it makes sense as to why they would make them out of regular Skylines over in Japan. Americans tend to think a Skyline is something exotic because of the GT-R and because the Infiniti G35 which is now exactly the same thing as a Skyline is a relatively limited production car. In Japan they're all over the freakin place. The GT-R is to the Skyline kind of like what the M3 is to the 3-series, and the Skyline is cheaper to start with.
