I was gonna pick up FFXI, but it says you ahve to have a P4 or P3.

I have an AMD Athlon XP 2500+... I don't want to spend 50 bucks, open the box, and install it, then have it say I can't use it. then with this new fuct up policy I can't return it either... 50 bucks down the drain.

Plus I hate monthly fees to play a damn game.

One would assume so, but if I can't return it if it doesn't work... I'm not taking any chances.

Most Sys reqs lists say Pentium 4 or equivalent, or Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon XP

the box only says Pentium 4 @ 1.8 ghz, or something like that. No equivalent, or AMD mentioned.

I would go to a final fantasy forum and ask around if you want to play it. If you do start, remember to get a good game pad. The game is 1000x better with one.

just make sure you have a Radeon 9000 or Geforce3 class video card or higher. Anything over 1ghz will run it. My laptop clocks down to 600mhz and it still runs it fine. And yea, I'm on Unicorn with Jimmy and Aux so if you want to change servers, let us know and we'll find you a worldpass code to get you on our server.

Btw if I remember correctly, the US launch date was Oct 28, 2003 and the US PS2 launch will be sometime in March.
