Ever feel a prick of paranoia when leaving a housesitter to watch your apartment while you're away? Chris Kirk may think twice next time. Returning from a trip, Kirk found his Olympia apartment completely coated in 4,000 square feet of aluminum foil. Friends had carefully encased his walls, ceiling, cabinets, even CD jackets and spare change in shimmering foil. They painstakingly unrolled toilet paper, wrapped it in foil and rolled it up again. "The toilet was hard. The molding around the doorways took a very long time," said longtime friend Luke Trerice, who orchestrated the prank while housesitting for Kirk. The tricksters left only a book, portrait of Kirk's girlfriend, bathmat and bed unfoiled. About his mischievous friend, Kirk said, "He's known for large-scale strangeness."
