Ya the title says it all, i have been an OG ps2 owner since the day it came out and today it went out.:sad: It wont even read the brand new Lens cleaner i bought for it. Have any of u guys experienced this and if u have what did you guys do to fix it.

 

yes i have the same problem. got mine the day it came out. some times it works. other days it doesn't. im going to best buy tommorrow buying a new ps2. taking the new one. and replacing the new one with my broken and taking it back and say something was wrong and getting my $ back.

 

mine wouldnt read anything.. so i took it apart
cleaned the lens with a q-tip and moved the little white gear like a notch... works fine now.. just wont read dvds, only ps2 games... but thats all i need it to do

 

call playstation they will fix it for free if its DVD Media or you get Disc Read Error.

 

this is usually the case for new ps#s..... beware on the psx and ps3... imma wait a few batches

My PS2 is acting up also, I think it's also the lense. Damn Sony lense's are the worst. If I power it up with a game inside, it just spins, then stops and brings it to the main menu... then spins again and finally loads..

 

happened to me. I also had one of the first ones. I just took it to Toys R Us, and the guy there swapped the consoles for me. He just took all the new stuff from a new box, and packaged everything like it was new back into my old box with the old console. It was about 4 months after I bought it, and he didn't ask for a receipt or anything.
