Convert from *.avi to *.mpg/.mov

Hi guys, where do u think I can find a converter for this? I need this converter because i cant burn *.avi movies as svcd (my dvd doesnt read movie files) it have to be as a svcd or vcd. And i dont know why i cant burn avi as svcd, so im looking for a converter from avi to something else, do u recommend something for me?

I think DiVX Pro can do that.

though I never tried it. .mov sucks.

Actually NERO Burning ROM can auto convert to SVCD or VCD from most video formats. Just need to select SVCD or VCD and then the file and tell it to burn. That' I've done before and is pretty easy.

You can rename it .mpeg or .mpg and it should work but if you want a more versatile route DL Vegas4.0 import the file then export it again as mpeg.

Simply rename the files won't work kuz the program that you use to burn the video with will tell you that you need to convert it. go to www.dvdrhelp.com for more guides on how to them them using what software. It's very easy and user friendly.
